Please read the following policies carefully before placing your order. By purchasing from our farm, you agree to these terms. We aim to be transparent, fair, and supportive while protecting the integrity of our small family business.

🌸About Our Dahlias

• We specialize in farm-grown dahlia tubers, seeds, and seasonal cut flowers.
• Dahlias grown from seed are genetically unique. Bloom colour, form, and plant habit cannot be guaranteed.
• Tubers are sold by variety name, not guaranteed bloom perfection. Natural variation may occur. Often one dahlia variety can look slightly different in color from first blooms to end of season or in higher heat.
• All photos and descriptions are representative only and are taken by Rural Roots Flower Farm. 

🌱 Growing Responsibility

• Successful growth depends on many factors beyond our control, including soil conditions, weather, planting depth, moisture, pests, and care.
• We are not responsible for losses due to weather extremes, rot, pests, improper planting, or neglect.
• We strongly encourage customers to review growing instructions prior to planting.

🧼 Sanitation & Plant Health Practices

• We take sanitation and plant health very seriously on our farm.
• Plants are closely monitored throughout the growing season for signs of disease or stress.
• Any plants showing potential viral symptoms are immediately removed and destroyed to protect the health of the field.
• Tools and work areas are maintained with cleanliness in mind to reduce the risk of disease spread.
• Despite best practices, some plant viruses may not show visible symptoms at the time of harvest or shipping.

We are committed to responsible growing practices and continual learning to provide healthy planting stock to the best of our ability.

🌸 Tuber Guarantee & Variety Accuracy

• All tubers are guaranteed to be true to variety and to have at least one visible eye at the time of shipping.
• While great care is taken in labeling and processing, we are human and handle hundreds of tubers each season. Occasional errors may occur.
• If a tuber stamped with a specific variety name does not produce the intended bloom, please contact us immediately.
• Clear photo proof of the tuber stamped label and resulting bloom is required so we can review the issue and make it right.

📦 Order Inspection & Claims

• Within 24 hours of receiving your order, please unpack and inspect all items for:
• Correct varieties
• Tuber health and condition 
• Any issues must be reported within 5 days of delivery, accompanied by clear photos.

We are unable to replace or refund tubers:

• After they have been planted
• Beyond 5 days from the delivery date

🌱 Seed Policy

• Seed packets contain 25+ seeds.
• Germination rates naturally vary and cannot be guaranteed. Dahlia seeds often have lower germination rates than many other flowers.  
• Fully double varieties may germinate more slowly.
• Seed-grown dahlias will vary in colour, form, and bloom type.

📦 Shipping Area & Timing

• Orders are shipped within Canada only.
• Shipping typically occurs mid-April through May, once temperatures have warmed and it is safe to ship planting material.
• Shipping dates may shift due to weather conditions to protect plant health.
• We are not responsible for delays caused by postal services, weather events, or circumstances beyond our control once orders leave our farm.\
• All shipping is one price based on average shipping prices.  All second and subsequent orders will be combined with the first order as a courtesy.  You must use the code COMBINESHIP at checkout for this to occur.  You must use the same name, e-mail and address.
• Farm pick up is available one day only - Saturday, May 2nd 10am-2pm. If this date and time does not work for you, please choose shipping. All orders not picked up will be contacted to collect shipping charges and will be shipped. Failure to respond to shipping expenses within 7 days will be cancelled with a 30% restocking fee. An e-mail reminding you of pick up and a location will be sent.

🔄 Orders, Refunds & Replacements

• All sales are final once an order is placed.
• We are unable to offer refunds, replacements, cancellations, or order changes after an order has been submitted.
• We will work together with the customer to make it right
• Tubers vary in size and shape.  Some varieties produce smaller tubers.  Rural Roots Flower Farm sells some second year cuttings - this means the viable new release tubers may be smaller and bent/twisty.  Some tubers can be ugly.
• New release, small volume tubers may show a LIMIT.  Please respect limits.  THis is to ensure a new variety can be shared with more gardens.  Limits are based on household totals.  If you purchase beyond limits your order will be cancelled and refunded.

Once tubers have been planted or the 5-day inspection window has passed, no refunds or replacements will be issued (exception of incorrect variety).

💚 Communication & Small Farm Courtesy

• We kindly ask that you allow us time to respond and work through any concerns directly with you before posting on social media.
• Negative public comments can significantly impact small, family-run farms.
• We are always committed to respectful communication and fair problem-solving.

📷 Photography & Image Use

• All photos on this website are original images taken by us on our personal phones.
• These images remain the property of our farm.
• Photos may not be copied, shared, reproduced, or used in any form without our express written permission.

• All planting, growing, harvesting, storing, packing, selling, and shipping is done by us on our family farm in Southwestern Ontario.
